I'm Marie Bortolotto, visual artist, poet, imaginal guide, healer. Through my work, I hope to inspire others to cultivate an imaginal, attentive way of seeing the world; one that engages the heart and deepens our kinship with all life.

I'm the author of several poetry books, including -- Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin', Eyes of a Pilgrim Poet, and Haiku in the Time of Winterberries (view all books) -- for those interested in brief poems, minimalist haiku and composing poetry as an awareness practice.

New Book of Poem-Images!

Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' is a collection of contemporary English-language haiku by visual artist and poet Marie Bortolotto. Dropping traditional haiku rules, she writes free-form verses called "poem images" during her daily walks to foster a deeply attentive way of seeing the world. These urban snapshots transform ordinary summer moments into mindful ones, encouraging readers to slow down and nurture a sense of curiosity and wonder in their own lives.
