Creativity, wellness and exploration define the life and work of Marie Bortolotto. As a visual artist and poet, she is inspired by diverse interests, from creative arts and mindfulness practices to holistic healing, zen, deep ecology, and indigenous wisdom. A dedicated practice of mindful walking allows her to discover the poetic utterances hidden within the nature of things.
In early years she travelled the world as both an airline employee and an ordinary backpacker.
Eventually, an unanticipated illness propelled her to change course and follow a lifelong interest in creativity. She graduated from NSCAD University, Canada, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Around the same time, she became a holistic health practitioner, spending the next fifteen years conducting workshops and private sessions. She also trained in creativity coaching and eventually began coaching others. Over the years, she led a variety of creative and therapeutic workshops for multiple organizations.
Another life-changing event in 2019 deepened her dedication to art and poetry. Today, she hopes her creations inspire others to cultivate an imaginal, attentive way of seeing the world; one that engages the heart and honours our kinship with all life.
