M ARIE B ORTOLOTTO

Marie Bortolotto is a visual artist living in Vancouver BC Canada. She received her BA from NSCAD University, Halifax Canada, 1996. Her abstract mixed media paintings and drawings explore the animistic dimension of perception and the origins of language. Her approach is process driven, rooted in imagination, intuition and memory, revealing echoes and reverberations of a language deeper than words: mark-making, gestures, patterns, textures, symbols, signs, scratches, shapes and lines.
